Good morning, F-list!

It's Friday, and I don't think I've ever been happier about a Friday ever. God, this week was long. Work sucked, sick cat, sick husband, dog sitting for the in-laws, long writing hours and problems posting completed work that kept me up far too late mid-week...yeah, I'm ready for the weekend. Mark is still feeling miserable enough that our glamorous plans for the evening include ordering chinese food, and catching him up on the rest of Supernatural S3. (Thanks bunches [livejournal.com profile] angel_grace, the DVDs arrived safe and sound! Would you like a jewlery something-or-other in return?)

I was so tired last night, I ended up barely starting the earrings and then setting them down. Just blah. I'll finish them tonight.

I think today I'm going to spend some time working on my LJ layout. I wish I had better graphic skills to make the banner I want, but I'll see what I can manage. (Unless some graphics-expert would like to volunteer services?)

Also, the last time I tried to change anything on my layout, I lost my banner because LJ has changed the 'customize layout' menus and now I have no idea what I'm doing again. I barely had any idea before. So this could be really, really fun (in a totally not fun way). Wish me luck.

Dinner last night was surprisingly not awful! I really enjoyed talking with the couple. He's a first year English teacher, and his wife is also going into teaching. They're younger than us by about ten years, but that didn't make any difference. Turns out they want to write some sort of educational non-fiction curriculum book or something. Which...nonfiction is so not my game. I have no real idea how to even proceed, except I know you have to have a really strong proposal now for nonfiction projects, and writing is still writing - "apply butt to chair, write" is still the single best advice of ever. Anyway, we didn't actually get much writing talk done, because two teachers talking shop...well, it dominated the conversation. Dinner also was not bad, not great, but nothing like my last awful experience. Thank goodness.

And lastly, a scan of my f-list doesn't seem to find many of you striking today. Halleluia! I was worried it would be a ghost town.

Glad dinner was good.

This has been the longest week ever, and I feel like crap. AND the stupid book I two day shipped still hasn't arrived. *grump*

TGIF, if it wasn't I'd probably ban the rest of the week. Here's hoping the weekend is the reward it should be after this week.

And, the SCC pilot wasn't that bad.

It's not that I thought it was bad, just that it wasn't as awesome as the rest of the season. And for people who loved the movies, it generally took a few episodes to really get into the show. :)

I'm not striking because I really didn't know anything was going on. I've been too into the photo of Snake--I mean Ray Park.
