I have exactly one scene left to write.  Less than 1500 words.  And then it's off to the beta readers.

So.  If you want to beta read for me, comment on this post with your e-mail address.  If you beta read for me last time and sent me a response, you are automatically a beta this time unless you specifically wish otherwise (please say so).  If you beta'd for me last time and never sent a response, you can request to beta again.  I don't hold it against you,  I promise - I just don't auto send the new book to you.

This is pure space opera - telepathic space pirates, politics, adventure, love, hate, violence, war, complicated societies, sex, assassins, and cool special abilities.  Character driven - very much so.  I only explain the science as much as I absolutely have to.

No problem! I have {{guilty}} flaked once or twice myself on beta duties. A good friend has a theory about writers making the most delinquent beta readers. She is most likely right. :-)

:-D No problem. I know the feeling. I have a writer who is more like a crit partner, I suppose, who I always beta for (I will be almost as excited when he finally gets published, as I will be for myself in the same circumstance) - and anyway, I totally flaked on his last novel for something like a month because I was too busy writing this one. I don't read much, when I'm mid-novel. It sort of consumes me.

The beta e-mail will give a detailed explanation, but basically, I'm not looking for grammatical, unless you just can't stop yourself. It's pretty clean (I edit as I go) and I'll catch most things in the editing pass. I'd prefer people concentrate on the story and characters and give me feedback re: that. And usually I have a specific question or two. :D

Also, i have a fish tank on my desk. It used to hold a beautiful blue betta, and then he got sick and died, and I haven't yet gotten another. But I really should.

I haven't beta'd a big project in a while. What kind've turnaround time do you need? I've got a new, second job and various relatives both decending in a week, but it would be nice to have something totally different to work on over a few weeks/month.

Well ~ I don't necessarily need all super fast responses, but there is a reason (I can't really go into here, but I'll mention it in the beta e-mail) why I do need at least some quick responses.

However, I am flexible. Feedback in a month's time will still be useful to me. :-D
