Pirates!

I'm sitting pretty at

I have exactly one scene left to write.  Less than 1500 words.  And then it's off to the beta readers.

So.  If you want to beta read for me, comment on this post with your e-mail address.  If you beta read for me last time and sent me a response, you are automatically a beta this time unless you specifically wish otherwise (please say so).  If you beta'd for me last time and never sent a response, you can request to beta again.  I don't hold it against you,  I promise - I just don't auto send the new book to you.

This is pure space opera - telepathic space pirates, politics, adventure, love, hate, violence, war, complicated societies, sex, assassins, and cool special abilities.  Character driven - very much so.  I only explain the science as much as I absolutely have to.

I'm going to need quick turnaround beta services today, this evening tomorrow (depending on your time zone) if someone has the time.  Terminator: SSC fic, primarily Derek/Sarah, not sure on the length yet (5-6000 words, probably), and M rated.  (er...I think that's how they rate fic these days.  Definitely some not work safe bits.)

Here's a completely work safe snippet:

Beta call

Ok, who wants to volunteer to beta read the new Sarkney fic?  This would probably be a couple thousand words at a time, as it unfolds.  Betas need to be familiar w/my Illusions series, to better aid me in catching any inconsistencies.  I'm only looking for a couple of people at this point, though when it's finished, I may want someone to beta the whole thing.  Maybe.

4,000 words and I haven't even introduced pirate!John yet.  But I will very soon now.  :D

Anyone interested in beta reading for me?  I'll send over what I've got, cause I suspect this is going to be pretty long.  Probably 12-13k when all's said and done, so I don't have a problem getting it beta'd a section at a time, saving someone a daunting task when it's finished.  (Maybe you don't think 13k is a daunting amount to beta.  But then, I'm just guessing.  This could be longer.  It depends on how fun everyone in the AU is to write.)

Any takers?  Who can hopefully catch any inconsistencies or breaks from canon (unintentional breaks, that is).

ETA: Ok, fine.  I'll add a teaser as possible coaxing.  Of course, I've now gotten to pirate!John's intro, so maybe I just couldn't resist sharing:

The great thing about being at work so early?  Three hours have already gone by, and only now am I really awake enough to notice.  :)

I'm going to need a beta for this SGA fic, which I'm 99% sure is going to be NC-17.  It's going along very well so far - I may very well finish today, after all.  (Of course, now that I've said that, the chances probably go down exponentially.  But never say never!)  So, I'll either need a beta today, or tomorrow.  Again, this is Weir/Shep.  any takers?

And in this instance, I really need someone familiar with the canon of the fandom (The Mummy, The Mummy Returns) and if possible also some Egyptian mythos. If not, well...I'll take whatever kind souls I can get. :)

This is supposed to be a 1,000 word drabble. I'm not good at writing things less than 5,000 words, so I expect it won't be. I want the mood, setting, tone, characters all to be right, and I'm trying not to twist the Egyptian pantheon too much. :)

Beta?

All right. I'm on the home stretch of a Ronon/Teyla fic. I think. I'm actually not sure if this is going to turn seriously NC-17, believe it or not. We'll see how this scene plays out.

There was a very small sex scene earlier in the fic, so there is still some of that element, in case you're not into that. (Who am I kidding - this is fandom, right?)

I need someone familiar with the series and characters to give it a look over and respond fairly quickly.

Oh, and I have one other, medical related question: is it reasonable to think that a doctor can tell some nutritional info about you by checking out a blood sample, or do I need to change that to something else? *is clueless*

Beta?

Ok, I know I am hopelessly late with this. What can I say? Life's been crazy. But I'm going to need at least one beta this weekend for my Alias/Mr. and Mrs. Smith Crossover fic. Obviously someone familiar with both the series and the movie. It's set pre/during S4 and characters are Jack, Irina and John & Jane Smith.

A couple of betas would be even better. :) I'll probably be e-mailing out the finished product Sunday, hopefully able to post it Monday, so a fairly quick turnaround would be cool.
