I am in a good mood today. :)

Normally this would not be worth commenting on, but days where I am inexplicably happy about everything seem fewer and farther between lately than they used to be, so I'll take the oddity of smiling at things on a Wednesday and press forward.

Which means I am writing today. Yesterday and the day before were taken up by personal life related things that some of you know about, so today starts my October push on (working title) Vyusher, aka McClairen's book. I may even post a word count meter later. (I know, shocking!)

I am already behind on my TV watching this week, but I did see Heroes Monday night, and Kensei and Hiro continue to be my favorite bits! Although I actually really loved the Peter parts, too (when I could ignore the awful accents). People like Peter and Sylar are just badass, yo! Oh, and where was Niki? Is she still on this show?? (Yes, I have seen her in the previews. I am simply miffed that two whole episodes have gone by with NOTHING about her or Micah or DL. COME ON already.)

Five scenes from the second episode of Heroes (thanks be to [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne for the link). Try your best to ignore the still incredibly bad Irish accents, but other than that, it is made of awesome. Especially Kensei/Hiro, obviously. Though I would have liked a glimpse of Nikki.

So, I was thinking about Heroes, and it suddenly occured to me why I like Mr. Bennet, aka HRG so very much.

See, if Kensei is rather like Sark, HRG is a LOT like Jack. Seriously. Take a moment to imagine the stoic Mr. Bristow working at a Copy Kingdom (Kinkos).

...

See what I mean? And he loves his daughter, and is willing to make whatever sacrifice necessary to protect her. Which somehow seems to include lying to her about certain things and hiding them.

He is so my new Jack! Though I think in general, he's better at fatherhood than Jack ever managed.

HEROES!!

Like I would post about ANYTHING ELSE this morning!

Hmm. Er...I apologize to the people who've friended me since last summer, and even to those people who've joined this journal since, oh, the glory days of Alias. You have no idea how fangirly and squeeful I can be when it comes to certain shows and/or characters and/or actors. *cough*DAVIDANDERS*cough* I promise, I'm still relatively normal in most other respects. And I apologize for the caplocks ahead of time.

Without further ado: Four Months Later )

For now, MY KINGDOM FOR SOME KENSEI SCREENCAPS WITH WHICH TO ICON!!

Thanks be to the ever fabulous [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne for the link! Here's a 6 minute preview of S2 of Heroes. For the number of you on my f-list eagerly awaiting seeing Anders as a new morally ambiguous British bastard, the last minute and a half is not to be missed.

Poor Hiro.

All right, all right.  I couldn't let that one small paragraph in my last post be it.

I am completely in a BSG mood today.  I don't know why - it's not Friday - but there it is.  All I can think about are hot pilots (except Lee, who would be hot again if only they would ditch the fat suit.  Which I'm really hoping is only an ep or two away, now.)

Except, I've also beeing thinking a bit on Heroes, and how this show is shaping up.

Heroes

I've been anticipating the premiere of Heroes since I saw the first promo.  It hits a weakness of mine - ordinary people developing extraordinary abilities.  And instead of making it a cheesy X-men ripoff and/or stereotype, NBC is treating it like a regular ensemble drama, which gives the show, IMO, a serious and believable edge that may draw in a larger audience than it might otherwise enjoy.  It helps that they're also promoting it as if it's a non-genre show, which, in their line-up, is pretty amazing.  It's not as though NBC is known for it's supernatural thrillers  (until Medium's success, at any rate, which probably came as a huge surprise to their studio execs.)

I loved it.  The pilot was very well done, introducing the premise, the conspiracy, the mystery, and most of the characters quite well - no mean feat in a 50 minute period.  My thoughts and reactions and many and varied.
